In this section you can define the projects general information, such as identification information on the Customer Name, the Project Number, the Project Name and the Room Name.
You'll also have the option to choose the type of room you're running this simulation for so it will show you on the chart on the right the minimum and maximum recommended reverberation times lines in grey.
In this section you be asked to characterize the room using its measurements of length, width and height, it's volume and the total surface area of the walls.
In this section you'll find prebuilt rooms, both from the ATP and JOCAVI brands that you can use as a base to work with.
Finally, once you've completed each section, we suggest clicking the Download button to save the JAS2 file locally in your computer. You can also reload these files using the Load button and clear the whole project using the Clear button.
In this section you can provide information about the introduction of the report. This information will be used in the report.
Though this field isn't mandatory, we usually use this space to talk about the room in general and about what we the purpose of the document is and the ideal acoustics we think the room in question should have.
You'll always have the option to exclude the Introduction and Recommendations page from the final report if you wish to do so.
In this section you'll be able to characterize the room "as is".
To do so, you'll need to add materials that represent the surfaces of the room, such as concrete, doors, plasterboards, windows, etc. You can also use more specific materials such as chairs, curtains, floor coverings, sofas or other types of furnitures.
In the Add material window you'll find different materials and their acoustic properties as a chart so you can add them to the room by defining the area they cover.
You can also edit already added materials, remove them one by one, or clear the whole list of already added materials.
Note: Please remember you can only add one line per material, so if you have 2 windows, sum their area and then add one line of the relevant material with the whole area combined.
In this section you'll be able to characterize the room after the acoustic treatment.
To do so, you'll need to add materials that represent the surfaces of the room, such as concrete, doors, plasterboards, windows, etc. just like before, but also the acoustic treatment materials.
In this Add material window you'll find different materials such as acoustic products developed by JOCAVI which can be added per unit.
As you change the list of materials, you'll see the reverberation times chart on the right change dynamically, along with the values for the calculated RT reduction, average and balance. This will immediatelly give you the visibility over how the choices you make change the acoustics of the room.
In this section you can provide information on the recommendations you made for this project. This information will also be used in the report.
Again, though this field isn't mandatory, we usually use this space to talk about how we corrected the issues we found in the room in order to achieve the ideal acoustics we think the room in question should have.
JOCAVI™ USA Corporation
When we face the possibility of heading for a second wave of the pandemic and the associated lack of the expected collective immunity, the challenge that lies ahead is the distinction that we will have to make between the Sanitary and Economic impacts of this Corona Virus. It is a reality that has already started affecting businesses and economies worldwide.
With what we have learned regarding the health rules and social distancing, it is now easier for us to realize that these are the only weapons we have to contain the spread of the virus.
The Economic side cannot be further affected by the lack of investment. Aware of the sanitary part, I want to personally appeal to all clients and partners to commit to and move forward with your projects. If we hesitate on deciding on the next investment or in acting, we will be heading for uncertain paths.
We could be facing greater difficulties if we do not distinguish between the Health and the Economic parts of the equation. We all must move forth with our lives and make a coordinated effort not to let the Economic side effects affect us in a fatal way.
With all the care and lessons that we have learned from this pandemic, we will have to return to investments with a sense of responsability. If we fail to do so, we will be plunging into a doward spiral that could result in the loss of not only our businesses, but jobs, and whole economies.
We need to spark in our customers an interest for what we do, and in which we specialists.
At JOCAVI, we would like to reinforce our commitment to providing you with our acoustic products and solutions.
